In September of 2023, LDI will be speaking to Congress on some of the much needed changes in the govt. oversight & regulation of the industry. We look at each and every carrier partner we source/book in REAL-TIME thru LDIF, our proprietary TMS software for insurance verification, safety scores, suspicious activity, performance issues, etc. Our software gives us the ability to make sure USPS is getting the service we promise on each and every dispatch.

Our model here at Cathie Leigh Inc. was inspired and developed by the living legend, Mr. Chuck Pawlus - Business is ultimately all about relationships and trust. We trust the relationships that Star Route Carriers have built and developed with the USPS, in some cases over decades & generations of service and sacrifice. There should never be a conflict when collective interests are aligned. We can run for you & you can run for us - Life is a two-way street & so is good 3PL Logistics Services with a trusted partner. RECOVER | PROTECT | GROW... & DIVERSIFY!
Over the past decade we have built a highly specialized team of agents & dispatchers with a foundation in operations. We have done so by being your partners, ...NOT your competition. By combining honesty & availability with proven systems & state-of-the-art software solutions, we’ve earned the trust & loyal partnership of so many of you. We are excited to now offer you diversification through USPS direct contract opportunities & the Freight Auction platform.
Our model of RECOVER | PROTECT | GROW was conceived & developed by Mr. Chuck Pawlus, a maverick & a visionary. After a recognized career with United States Postal Service, which included several years at the OIG (Office of Inspector General), Chuck began working for a major Star Route Carrier as their Director of Postal Contracting. Chuck 1st reached out to us as a customer who needed help recovering a large peak season contract someone had dropped back in his lap with already late & missing trips. We committed to his work for 5 cents-per-mile less than what he had offered us and successfully serviced all of the lanes. After another year of working with Chuck, he again retired...
About 6 months later, we met Chuck for a friendly lunch that turned into a four-hour business meeting resulting in his return from retirement 2.0 – He said he liked to imagine the ideal vendor booth he had always wished to come across at exhibitions/conventions. What would that look like & how would it best serve the needs of the association? At that time, “Broker” was a dirty word – We knew we would have to prove otherwise...
"The only thing we need to do in order to be better than everyone else...is to BE BETTER than everyone else", he would say. Well, Chuck RETURNS!!! He just put retirement 3.0 on hold to come back to the incredible legacy he helped us build, that continues to evolve & grow. To date we have hauled more than 60,000 loads of Priority US Mail for 38 different Star Route Carriers & through the USPS Freight Auction. If you haven’t already, then Come & See Why YOU Should Be with Cathie Leigh! – The best is yet to come...
In addition to having our partner carriers sign an iron clad Carrier Contract Addendum outlining service requirements and performance expectations, we provide a driver(s) settlement worksheet based on actual driver logs HOS that breaks down the carrier's legal obligation to federally determined minimum driver / labor wage requirements according to the SCA and current wage determination for whatever contract / region they are servicing. To further ensure compliance that ALL drivers are being compensated at or above the established minimum wages as required by federal law, we have all partner carriers sign an agreement to comply and all drivers must submit service logs with HOS and sign off on the Driver Settlement Worksheets confirming all hours and the minimum compensation associated with that contracted work for each tender.
Only Partner Carriers that demonstrate committed compliance with all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Saftey Administration) rules, regulations, and mandates are sourced. Our Partner Carriers hold some of the highest fitness and saftey scores in the country and if there is a violation they are required to submit a letter of corrective action along with references and be able to illustrate a plan to improve their overall scores
